The program lags terribly and hangs causing the system to lock up, I’m not sure if the developers of Pixologic are aware of this issue but its something that needs to be addressed.

We had started off creating the basic model in Sculptris, on a Windows 8 based Mac Book Pro, then moved to the higher powered 27″ IMac using a Mac version of Sculptris needless to say Sculptris’s performance on any form of Mac is absouloutly shocking and is, quite frankly unusable. Yes keeping the components ( tools) separate from each other would of been the more professional approach but again we are still exploring the vast amount of options and capabilities that ZBrush has to offer. Sculptris is free, digital sculpting tool, created by Pixologic, the makers of ZBrush. This was followed by a few layers of basic RGB paint to blend all the components seamlessly and to create depth.

It is clear that the creators of Sculptris have left it in is crude and unfinished alpha state intentionally, in order to try promote the sale of its bigger brother ZBrush,
I created the materials based on my need for more than just the stock standard materials supplied with both software’s.įor example you will find a lot of creature skin and organic materials, like human flesh, hulk skin, lizard and amphibian skin sets.Īmong the more synthetic materials you will find, batman style matte amour, steel, metal, bronze, aluminium, foil and various plastics.įor interest sake I had tested Sculptris on, Windows XP, Windows 7, and the new Windows 8, and I have found no major problems other that the random spontaneous crashing, however when I tested Sculptris on the 27″ imac (using Mountain Lion), the performance was shockingly poor, with an Unbearably low frame rate which makes the application unusable.
